Sentences for alleged participation in the Crimean Tatar battalion named after Noman Çelebicihan were handed down to 13 people during the years of the occupation of Crimea. This was reported by CrimeaSOS analyst Yevhenii Yaroshenko.

“At least 16 people were accused of allegedly participating in the volunteer battalion named after Noman Çelebicihan during the years of the occupation of Crimea. At least 13 people received sentences with a total term of 93 years and 6 months”, — said Yevhenii Yaroshenko.

Of the 16 prisoners, 10 were detained after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation on February 24.

We would like to remind you that on June 1, 2022, the supreme court of the russian federation recognized the battalion as a terrorist organization. Earlier, CrimeaSOS analyst Yevhenii Yaroshenko reported that the russian occupation authorities were using the case of the Noman Çelebicihan battalion as a “universal” article to persecute disloyal Crimean Tatars.

The total prison term of the current victims of politically motivated persecution in the temporarily occupied Crimea is 1339 years and 2 months.
