CrimeaSOS: residents of Crimea have heard explosions almost every day for two weeks in a row

Since the beginning of the summer of 2023, at least 19 days have passed in Crimea with the sounds of explosions, and since July 17 this has happened almost every day. In the last two weeks, only two days have passed without hits or “air defence work” on the occupied peninsula.

On July 17, for the second time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, there was an explosion on the bridge over the Kerch Strait. According to CrimeaSOS analyst Yevhenii Yaroshenko, the damage to the “Crimean Bridge” put the occupiers in a disadvantageous position on the peninsula, considering that earlier, on June 22, the Chonhar Bridge was damaged by explosions.

On July 18, the occupiers announced an UAV attack on Crimea. According to the so-called “head of the peninsula” Serhii Aksionov, air defence shot down nine drones.

On July 19, explosions occurred at the Staryi Krym training ground in the Kirovske area of Crimea. According to CrimeaSOS, after that, russian security forces began visiting the homes of Crimean Tatars according to the lists and conducting surveys. 

On July 20, residents of Rozdolne in Saky area reported the sounds of explosions. According to the occupiers, the drone hit an administrative building and a supermarket.

On July 22, as a result of an UAV strike, “a detonation occurred at an ammunition warehouse” near the village of Oktiabrske, Krasnohvardiiske area. On the same day, the evacuation of people from a five-kilometre zone around the warehouse began.

On July 24, the head of the occupation administration of Crimea, Serhii Aksionov, reported that as a result of the drone attack, there were several hits in the area of the military airfield and a fire at the ammunition warehouse near the village of Vesele, Dzhankoi area.

On July 25, local channels reported the sounds of explosions in various regions of Crimea, in particular in Krasnohvardiiske, Feodosiia and Simferopol.

On July 26, local channels reported on the possible work of air defence in Sevastopol, as well as the sounds of explosions in the Krasnohvardiiske area.

On July 27, explosions rang out again in the Krasnohvardiiske area, as reported by Crimean channels. According to preliminary information, the Air Defence Forces worked.

On July 28, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defenсe of Ukraine reported an explosion at an ammunition warehouse in Cossack Bay in Sevastopol. The 810th separate marine brigade of the russian army is stationed there. According to the report, a sabotage took place there.

On July 29, the defence forces of Ukraine successfully struck the Chonhar bridge, located on the border between the Kherson region and Crimea. According to the photo, it suffered significant damage.

On July 30, the occupiers in Crimea announced an attack by dozens of drones. According to them, “all UAVs were successfully shot down or landed with the help of electronic warfare”.

On July 31, 8–10 explosions rang out near Simferopol. The occupation administration accused Ukraine of spreading disinformation, but a number of local channels reported on the explosions.

On August 1, an explosion occurred near the occupied Sevastopol. Local channels claim that it happened in the Sevastopol area, where a thermal power plant is located, as well as four warehouses of weapons, ammunition, equipment and military property of russia. The so-called “local authorities” announced the downed drone.

On August 2, a powerful explosion occurred in the village of Hvardiiske north of Simferopol. A military airfield is located on the outskirts of the village, which russia uses for attacks on Ukraine.
Due to the current situation in Crimea, CrimeaSOS recommends that local residents take care of their safety and go to shelters in case of danger.
