CrimeaSOS directed almost UAH 2.5 million to equip shelters7 / 03 / 2023
CrimeaSOS allocated almost UAH 2.5 million to equip shelters in various regions of Ukraine. CrimeaSOS co-coordinator Iryna Datsenko told us about it.
“CrimeaSOS, with the support of the Canadian Embassy, spent almost UAH 2.5 million to equip 16 shelters. Most shelters are located in educational institutions”, —Iryna Datsenko said.
In general, lighting was purchased for the amount of almost UAH 77 thousand, generators and charging stations – for more than UAH 632 thousand. More than UAH 123 thousand were allocated for the purchase of first-aid kits, and more than UAH 56 thousand for fire safety equipment. Construction materials worth more than UAH 450 thousand were purchased to repair shelters.
In addition, shelters were equipped with furniture, hygiene products, accessories for children, etc.
“Recently, the staff of one of the kindergartens said that the children stopped being afraid of the “dark” basement, and began to perceive the shelter as part of their space. When the air-raid siren sounds, they are willing to run to the shelter because that’s where their toys and things are”, –Iryna Datsenko added.
We remind you that previously CrimeaSOS organized the webinar “5 questions about the arrangement of shelters” about the features of the equipment of shelters.
