CrimeaSOS: at least 14 Crimean Tatars became victims of the illegal actions of the occupiers due to the search for those involved in sabotage on the railway

22 / 06 / 2023

Since February 2023, at least 14 residents of Crimea have been subjected to illegal actions by the occupying power structures due to efforts to find the “culprits” of sabotage on the railway. However, the suspects have not yet been identified.

During this time, the occupiers conducted at least 11 searches and 10 arrests.  One of the arrests had elements of enforced disappearance. All these illegal actions of the security forces are directed exclusively against the Crimean Tatars.

Only in March 2023, the occupiers illegally searched the houses of 8 Crimean Tatars. Occupiers usually arrive for searches early in the morning and carry out investigative actions in a rough form. In some places, after the searches, the detainees were taken to the FSB headquarters in Simferopol.

We shall remind you that more than 110 out of 150 victims of politically motivated persecution in Crimea are Crimean Tatars. The occupation authorities are trying to suppress the resistance of the disloyal Crimean Tatar population on the peninsula in every possible way. In addition, russia discredits the Crimean Tatars with the help of fabricated cases, unfounded accusations and constant illegal searches, creating the image of a threat to the public security of Crimea.
