CrimeaSOS: at least 6 Crimean political prisoners were tortured in 2022

CrimeaSOS recorded at least six cases of torture of Crimean political prisoners in 2022. CrimeaSOS analyst Yevhenii Yaroshenko told us about it.
“During 2022, facts of torture were recorded against at least six Crimean political prisoners. Enver Krosh and Iryna Danylovych were tortured after being detained. Iryna Danylovych was also beaten during transfer for the court hearing. Rustem Osmanov, Ruslan Abdurakhmanov, Yaroslav Zhuk and Oleksii Kyseliov survived brutal torture after being abducted in the newly occupied territories”, — said Yevhenii Yaroshenko.
The occupying forces torture not only political prisoners. For example, Andrii Bilozerov, the dismissed teacher at the Bilohirsk Technical School, was brutally beaten during detention for publishing the song “Red viburnum” on social media. For this act, he was sent under administrative arrest for 14 days on charges of allegedly displaying Nazi symbols.
In addition to torture, Crimean political prisoners suffer from cruel and inhumane treatment. In particular, detainees are not provided with adequate medical care. Due to this, two Crimean political prisoners died in February 2023: Kostiantyn Shyring and Dzhemil Hafarov.
