The verdict of the Crimean Tatar activist Marlen Mustafaiev was the fastest in “Hizb ut-Tahrir cases” in the occupied Crimea. This was reported by the CrimeaSOS analyst Yevhenii Yaroshenko.

“On November 30, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don (russia) sentenced Crimean Tatar activist Marlen Mustafaiev to 17 years in prison for allegedly organizing the activities of a terrorist organization. The activist was arrested on February 9, 2022. His sentence was issued in less than 10 months making this case the fastest out of “Hizb ut-Tahrir cases” in the occupied Crimea”, — said Yevhenii Yaroshenko.

Among the “Hzib ut-Tahrir cases”, the russian court considered the Yalta group of “Hizb ut-Tahrir cases” for the longest time. The court announced the sentence to four defendants of this case – 3 years and 9 months after their arrest, and to two more – 3 years and almost 7 months after the arrest.

The total term of sentences for current victims of political persecution in the occupied Crimea increased to 1,327 years and 2 months. During the years of occupation, 109 people were sentenced to imprisonment by russian courts and occupation courts in Crimea.
