The total term of imprisonment of Crimean political prisoners has increased to 1,064 years

As reported by the CrimeaSOS analyst Ievgenii Iaroshenko, the sum of conviction terms for current victims of politically motivated persecutions in occupied Crimea has reached 1064 years and two months.

5 more Crimean Tatars were convicted to 62 years of imprisonment in total. As of today, the sum of all the imprisonment terms for current victims of political repressions in occupied Crimes amounts to 1064 years and two months, CrimeaSOS analyst Ievgenii Iaroshenko said.

This is about the sentence delivered by the judge of the Southern Regional Military Court in Rostov-on-Don to 5 Crimean Tatars for alleged involvement in the activities of the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, which is forbidden in Russia. Tofik Abdulhaziiev, Bilial Adilov, Medzhyt Abdurakhmanov, Izzet Abdullaiev, Vladlen Abdulkadyrov were sent to jail for 62 years in total.

As Ievgenii Iaroshenko explained, Russia applies its legislation to persecute civic activists of Crimean-Tartar origin, human rights defenders, and religious leaders who express disagreement with the actions of the occupation administration in Crimea. The majority of them were convicted in the so-called Hizb ut-Tahrir cases – 61 political prisoners have been sentenced to up to 19 years of imprisonment, says Ievgenii Iaroshenko.
