In 2023, specialists of the CrimeaSOS “legal hotline” received 2,262 appeals from people who suffered from the aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.

Most often, citizens applied for consultations regarding documents – domestic and foreign passports, identity cards for returning to Ukraine. People are interested in how to obtain a passport for the first time after the age of 18, exchange it or reissue it.

Other popular requests for the “legal hotline” relate to the procedure for leaving the occupied territories, as well as receiving financial assistance from the state. In particular, internally displaced persons asked about the new procedure for receiving payments, established by the Cabinet of Ministers in July 2023.

According to CrimeaSOS lawyers, there was also a demand for consultations on establishing the facts of birth or death in the TOT (temporarily occupied territories). With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, this issue became especially acute against the background of the imperfection of the civil status registration procedure.

In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to adopt Law #9069 and introduce an administrative procedure for the registration of civil status acts. Read more about the need to adopt the law following the link

In the vast majority of cases, “hotline” specialists provide legal advice to residents of Crimea and the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, as well as to those who were forced to leave the TOT for the controlled part of Ukraine. Requests also come from abroad.

We would like to remind you that CrimeaSOS has a “hotline” providing legal advice at numbers +380962240123 for calls within Ukraine and the world, +380952775355 and +380630771619 in Viber/Signal/Telegram/WhatsApp. Specialists accept calls from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
