CrimeaSOS “legal hotline” specialists processed 2,852 appeals

Since April 2022, CrimeaSOS “legal hotline” specialists have received 2,852 appeals. CrimeaSOS lawyer Anastasiia Kalinina reported the following.
“During the year of work, CrimeaSOS “legal hotline” specialists received 2,852 appeals from people who suffered from russia’s war against Ukraine. During this time, we received almost 300 requests related to social benefits after the birth of a child”, —Anastasiia Kalinina said.
On April 18, the Government of Ukraine settled the issue of awarding benefits after the birth of a child to parents who went abroad because of the war.
The novelty provides that one of the parents, who is abroad, has the opportunity to send an application for the appointment of benefits to the social security body in Ukraine at his/her registered place of residence. Therefore, payments can be received by parents whose child was born in the country where they have temporary protection.
Together with the application, the parent shall send documents certifying birth of the child issued by the competent authorities of the country of residence and legalized in accordance with the established procedure.
The resolution has not yet been published on the Government’s website, so it is not clear exactly when it will enter into force. CrimeaSOS monitors publication updates.
