CrimeaSOS “legal hotline” received 2,304 appeals

Since April 2022, 2,304 appeals have been received by the “legal hotline” of the CrimeaSOS NGO. CrimeaSOS lawyer Anastasiia Kalinina told us about it.

“Citizens of Ukraine who are abroad and plan to return home, contact CrimeaSOS “legal hotline” specialists regarding staying in third countries and crossing the border without any passport documents. Currently, Ukrainians can use an identification document to return to Ukraine”, — said Anastasiia Kalinina.

The current rules for the entry and stay of Ukrainian citizens (with a document for return to Ukraine) on the territory of third countries can be viewed at the link. Now, these rules apply in Germany, Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania. 

To obtain an identification document for returning to Ukraine in third countries, a person shall personally apply to the embassy or consulate of Ukraine in this country, having collected the necessary package of documents.

We shall remind you that residents of the occupied Crimea, who ended up in the territory of russia can remotely obtain a document for returning to Ukraine through the third countries. One of the parents or another legal representative of a person under the age of 18 can apply for the preparation of the document; married couple; adult children; siblings. The document is prepared free of charge, the issuance period is up to 5 days. Its validity period is up to three months.
