CrimeaSOS: a film about the political prisoner Nariman Dzhelial will be shown in Ukraine
21 / 02 / 2023On February 26, the Ukrainian premiere of the documentary film “Voice of Crimea. Nariman Dzhelial” will take place in Kyiv. This was announced by the Head of the Board of CrimeaSOS Oleksii Tilnenko.
“On the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of Crimea, the documentary “Voice of Crimea. Nariman Dzhelial” will be shown in Ukraine for the first time. Nariman Dzhelial is one of the most important faces of the Crimean resistance to the russian occupation. For eight years, he remained almost the only voice of real life on the peninsula and an information bridge that connected it with mainland Ukraine”, — said Oleksii Tilnenko.
The documentary film about Nariman Dzhelial was created by the team of the NGO “Public Interest Journalism Lab” in partnership with CrimeaSOS. The director of the film is Anna Tsyhyma, the producer is Natalia Humeniuk.
After the film, the audience is invited to join the panel discussion “Crimea-Resistance-Victory”. The moderator is Alim Aliev, Deputy Director General of the Ukrainian Institute.
Visitors can also enjoy the exhibition of the art project “U(CRIME)A. Crimea under russian occupation”. Ukrainian illustrator Iryna Vale created 10 illustrations about nine years of the life of the peninsula under russian occupation. The illustrations demonstrate russia’s crimes in Crimea and their consequences, peaceful resistance, and the unbreakable connection between Crimea and mainland Ukraine.
