CrimeaSOS: in 2022, 67 shelters improved the living conditions of the displaced persons

Living conditions in 67 collective centres (shelters) for internally displaced persons (IDPs) were improved in 2022. This was reported by CrimeaSOS social manager Olha Shkarupa.

“Thanks to the help of CrimeaSOS and the Representation of the High Commissioner for Refugees of the United Nations (UNHCR), in 2022 living conditions in 67 shelters for IDPs were improved. The shelters housed a total of 5,416 people. Necessary appliances were purchased for them, essential goods were handed over and integration measures were carried out”, — Olha Shkarupa said.

The project is implemented in 14 regions of Ukraine: Vinnytsia, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, Ternopil, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Chernihiv, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Volyn and Chernivtsi.

In 2022, IDPs in collective centres received almost 200,000 units of humanitarian aid, including hygiene items, furniture and appliances.

The project “Strengthening IDP communities in the central and western regions of Ukraine” is implemented with financial support United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
