At least 600 Ukrainian civilians have become victims of enforced disappearances in the Kherson region since the beginning of the occupation of part of the region. Oleksii Tilnenko, the Head of the Board of CrimeaSOS, told about this in an interview with Facty.

“We recorded at least 600 such cases in the Kherson region. As a rule, people are taken to the occupied Crimea from the occupied Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. Before that, some are held in pre-trial detention centres, police stations or offices of security services for three days, weeks, some are held there and tortured for months. Everything depends on the person and the circumstances under which this forced disappearance and abduction took place”, — said Oleksii Tilnenko.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the disappearance of Ukrainian civilians from the occupied territories has been a mass phenomenon. The “hotline” of CrimeaSOS on issues of prisoners of war and civilian hostages received more than 1,200 appeals regarding people who were in captivity and abducted by the russians.

Cases of abduction of civilians and capture of military personnel can be reported to the relevant CrimeaSOS “hotline” at the numbers: +38 097 327 69 56 and +38 095 931 00 65. Appeals can be sent in WhatsApp and Signal messengers. Specialists provide consultations by phone from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
