CrimeaSOS: Crimean political prisoners were sentenced to a total of 1,466 years of imprisonment

The total term of imprisonment of victims of politically motivated persecution in the temporarily occupied Crimea increased to 1,466 years and 8 months. This was reported by CrimeaSOS analyst Yevhenii Yaroshenko.

“Currently, the total term of imprisonment of victims of politically motivated persecution in the occupied Crimea has increased to 1,466 years and 8 months. Since December, the “courts” in Crimea and russian courts have sentenced 11 political prisoners”, — said Yevhenii Yaroshenko.

Thus, on January 12, the Crimean resident Raif Fevziiev was sentenced to 17 years in prison for allegedly organizing the activities of the “Hizb ut-Tahrir“ organization, which is banned in russia. In the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” case, six more Crimean Tatars were sentenced to a total of 76 years. 

In addition, two Jehovah’s Witnesses were sentenced to 6 years in prison, a resident of the Kherson Region was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months for allegedly participating in the battalion named after Noman Çelebicihan, and citizen journalist Iryna Danylovych was sentenced to 7 years in prison.

We shall remind that approximately 35% of sentences for current victims of politically motivated criminal prosecutions in Crimea were handed down after the start of the full-scale invasion.

For information: Hizb ut-Tahrir isinternational political Islamic party, which was recognized as a terrorist organization by the decision of the supreme court of the russian federation in 2003, but legally operates on the territory of Ukraine and most countries of the world. The occupiers sentence people to up to 19 years in prison for alleged involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir.
