Five political prisoners from the “second Simferopol group” of the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” case waited 45 months and 15 days for the verdict. CrimeaSOS analyst Yevhenii Yaroshenko told us about it.

“Political prisoners of the “second Simferopol group” of the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” case waited 45.5 months for the verdict, all this time being behind bars. This is the longest waiting period among the currently known politically motivated cases initiated in the occupied Crimea”, – said Yevhenii Yaroshenko.

On January 11, the southern district military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Servet Haziiev, Dzhemil Hafarov, Erfan Osmanov, Alim Karimov, and Seiran Murtazi. Each of the Crimean Tatars was sentenced to 13 years in prison for alleged participation in the “terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir”.

“Servet Haziiev and Dzhemil Hafarov, despite serious health problems, were never released under house arrest”, – Yevhenii Yaroshenko noted.

During almost four years of imprisonment, the health condition of Servet Haziiev and Dzhemil Hafarov significantly deteriorated.

Earlier, Yevhenii Yaroshenko said that political prisoners from the “second Simferopol group” of the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” case were treated inhumanely by the occupiers.
