A Ukrainian political prisoner Vladyslav Yesypenko faces additional fabricated charges
18 / 05 / 2021According to Kateryna Yesypenko, the defenders of her husband were reading the case materials on May 5th. They found out that Vladyslav Yesypenko is facing additional charges under article 222 of the Russian Criminal Code (illegal purchase, transfer, distribution, keeping, transporting, and bearing of weapon, its main parts, or ammunition).
Earlier, FSB accused Vladyslav Yesypenko of committing a crime under article 223-1 of the Russian Criminal Code (illegal manufacture of explosives, illegal manufacture, modification, or repair of explosive devices).
As we informed earlier, the freelance reporter of the project Krym.Realii of Radio Liberty, Vladyslav Yesypenko, has been detained in Crimea on March 10th, 2021 by the Russian FSB. He is suspected of alleged espionage in favor of Ukraine.
After the arrest, the journalist has allegedly admitted his guilt. However, on April 6th, Yesypenko claimed that his previous statement was made under torture by the FSB.
On April 30th, the Russia-controlled Kyiv district “court” of Simferopol prolonged the detainment of the political prisoner until June 11th, 2021.
