Great Britain imposed sanctions against two FSB employees involved in gross human rights violations in Crimea since 2014. This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of CrimeaSOS Oleksii Tilnenko.

“Great Britain imposed sanctions against the FSB employees involved in gross violations of human rights in the occupied Crimea. We are talking about two employees of the FSB of russia on the peninsula: Andrii Tishenin and Artur Shambazov. They both previously worked in the Security Service of Ukraine, and in 2014 they betrayed the Motherland and went over to the side of the occupying state”, —Oleksii Tilnenko said.

They both were involved in the repression and torture of activists in Crimea. In 2015, Artur Shambazov and Andrii Tishenin tortured Euromaidan activist Oleksandr Kostenko. Shambazov also tortured activist Ismail Ramazanov in 2018.

Personal sanctions should be introduced against judges, prosecutors, investigators, the FSB employees, heads of penitentiary institutions and other persons involved in gross violations of human rights in the occupied Crimea. In addition, sectoral sanctions against the russian federation should be in effect until the peninsula is completely de-occupied.

“Since 2014, CrimeaSOS has been involved in the verification of persons and the documentation of war crimes and gross violations of human rights committed by them. In particular, CrimeaSOS compiles and updates the register of “military commissars” who are involved in illegal conscription and mobilization in Crimea, and judges who issue sentences in politically motivated cases”, — said Oleksii Tilnenko.

On December 9, Great Britain introduced sanctions against 30 corrupt politicians and individuals who violated human rights and committed sexual violence during conflicts around the world. Five persons from russia and the occupied Crimea fell under the sanctions.
