CrimeaSOS: the whole world should be reacquainted with Crimea
6 / 09 / 2023Not only the closest neighbours of Ukraine, but also the whole world should be introduced to Crimea in order to consolidate the awareness that the peninsula is a part of Ukraine. CrimeaSOS analyst Yevhenii Yaroshenko said this after a meeting with Italian journalists who arrived in Ukraine as part of the In Solidarity With Ukraine program.
“This format of conversations with foreign journalists is very important. Unfortunately, not all of them know enough about Crimea. When it comes to the seizure of Crimea, the life of Crimeans under occupation, and the future of the peninsula after de-occupation, it is currently much easier to discuss these issues, for example, with the Polish media. We need to introduce Crimea not only to our closest neighbours, but also to the whole world, and to strengthen the awareness that it is an inseparable part of Ukraine”, — says Yevhenii Yaroshenko.
On September 5, the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Tamila Tasheva, and the Head of the Crimea Platform Department, Maria Tomak, held a meeting with a delegation of Italian journalists, civic activists, scientists, cultural figures and publicists who visited Ukraine within the framework of the In Solidarity With Ukraine program.
The event was attended by CrimeaSOS analyst Yevhenii Yaroshenko, PEN Ukraine deputy executive director Maksym Sytnikov, Center for Civil Liberties international cooperation coordinator Roman Nekoliak and Truth Hounds representative Kateryna Mitieva.
