13 / 02 / 202361% of internally displaced persons (IDPs) interviewed by CrimeaSOS facilitators in different regions of Ukraine needed humanitarian aid. This was reported by CrimeaSOS social manager Olha Shkarupa.
“During three months, CrimeaSOS facilitators interviewed 1,251 internally displaced persons about the needs and problems in their places of stay. According to the results of the survey, 760 people (61%) need humanitarian aid”, — Olha Shkarupa said.
CrimeaSOS facilitators started their work in November 2022. They communicate individually with IDPs and the war-affected population in order to identify their needs and problems. The survey results are sent to relevant regional organizations and institutions that can help and provide relevant assistance.
Currently, 39 CrimeaSOS facilitators work in 13 regions of Ukraine: Vinnytsia, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, Ternopil, Lviv, Rivne, Chernihiv, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Volyn and Chernivtsi. It is also planned to attract facilitators in the Ivano-Frankivsk region soon.
The work of facilitators in the regions is one of the activities of CrimeaSOS within the project “Strengthening IDP communities in the central and western regions of Ukraine”. The project is implemented with the financial support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
