Liaison Officer program

September 29, 2015 15:14 0 9505
Strengthening civil society engagement with Ukrainian Ministry of Social Policy and national reconciliation process

Donor: Conflict Stability and Security Fund of British Government

Project implementation period: August 2015 — March 2016

CrimeaSOS implemented the project in cooperation with the British government in two directions

1. Liaison Officer Program within the Ministry Of Social Policy.

27 liaison officers worked within the Ministry of Social Policy at the central level and at the level of departments in the Central, Eastern, Southern and Western Ukraine, namely 25 liaison officers – at the regional level and in Kiev and 2 – at the central level. Liaison officers were solving the problems of IDPs in specific regions together with the Ministry of Social Policy and local authorities.

Thus liaison officers became a bridge between the IDPs communities and the Ministry of Social Policy for more effective targeted assistance to internally displaced persons in eastern Ukraine and Crimea.

2. The program of initiatives for internally displaced persons - small and large grants.

The project provided funding for initiatives of internally displaced persons, aimed at the development and empowerment of internally displaced persons and their communities, as well as the harmonization of relations between IDPs and the local host communities. Grants were obtained by the initiatives aimed at creating a positive social impact in the common interests of internally displaced persons and host communities.
