The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a note of protest to Russia in connection with the non-admission of representatives of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don to political prisoners Ruslan Zeytulaev, Nuri Primov, Rustem Vaitov and Ferat Sayfullaev. The press service of the department reports it.
Let us recall, they were illegally detained in occupied Crimea and transferred for detention on the territory of the Russian Federation.
"The decision of the North Caucasus District Military Court runs counter to the international legal obligations of Russia, taken by it under the Consular Convention between Ukraine and the Russian Federation from 15 January 1993", — the message of the department says.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also noted that the Russian Federation, impeding access to political prisoners, tries to conceal the "obvious fabrication of opened criminal proceedings against them".
"Indignation is aroused by the practice of intervention of relevant services of the occupying state into the lives of friends and relatives of illegally detained citizens of Ukraine and exertion pressure on them", — it is noted in the Ministry.
