In the capital of Crimea group of young people of left-wing and anarchist views attempted to hold a public event in support of political prisoners in the Russian Federation on July 2nd. In particular, it was also about the Ukrainian prisoners director Oleg Sentsov and anti-fascist Alexander Kolchenko, the website of "Solidarity Committee" reports.
However, it was not possible to hold the event. Despite the pre-sent request for the action, authorities of occupied Crimea left it unanswered. Police prevented the holding of a picket under the building of the Crimean FSB, and after activists had held pickets near the local prosecutor's office, police officers detained two of them. More in the video.
Let’s remind Alexander Kolchenko and Oleg Sentsov have been convicted in Russia in the North Caucasus Military District Court to 20 and 10 years imprisonment respectively. They were charged with preparing "terrorist acts", as well as arson of "Russian Community of Crimea" and the party "Edinaya Rossiya" in annexed by Russia Crimea. Russian human rights movement "Memorial" recognized both Ukrainians as political prisoners.
