Yesterday a search was conducted in Simferopol mosque, the Mufti of Muslims of Ukraine Said Ismagilov informed. According to him, the Russian security forces planted banned literature in the mosque, and will open a criminal case on the basis of this fact.
Under Russian law, possession of "extremist" materials is an administrative offense. Mosques can be threatened a fine ranging from one hundred thousand to one million rubles or administrative suspension of activity for up to ninety days.
Let us remind that in January 2016 Russian security forces also planted banned literature during a search of the Islamic cultural center in Simferopol.
