Today, on July 10, the Kyiv district court of Simferopol fined Bilial Adilov, accused of having threatened police officers, for RUR 10 K. Lawyer Edem Semedlyaev said this in a comment for QirimInfo.
The lawyer said it was an open trial which gathered an audience of about 20 people.
«When the court started reading out the materials characterizing him [Adilov], there was one negative personal evaluation in the case, from the Kyiv district police department. It was claimed in the document that Adilov was probably a member of some extremist organizations», – the lawyer informed.
The defense filed a petition on withdrawal of this evaluation from the case materials, the court declined the petition. The defense believes though, that this evaluation didn’t affect the final decision as the court didn’t refer to it in the sentence.
«The prosecutor requested a fine for RUR 15 K, but the court fined Adilov for RUR 10 K. We are not in the rush to rejoice, as the law gives 10 days to appeal the sentence. The casualties, or the prosecutor, might want to file an appeal, and we’ll wait and see», – the lawyer added.
Important to note, on March 29 Adilov was kidnapped by several masked hawks near the building of the Supreme Court of the Crimea . It turned out later that Adilov had been held in the Investigatory Committee of Simferopol for over 10 hours. After that, he was transported to the temporary detention center, where a record of detention was drawn up. A criminal case was started against him under Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation [A threat to commit violence against representatives of the authorities or their families] A day later, on March 31, the Kyiv district court of Simferopol declined the investigator’s petition on the activist’s arrest and resolved to release him on recognizance.
