On February 26, witness Arifm found out about the upcoming demonstration, arriver to the Lenin square in Simferopol, learnt that the demonstration would take place near the building of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea, and then got to the site of the event by foot.
«The witness testified that he had spent a rather long time beside Akhtem Chiygoz, and he didn’t see Akhtem Chiygoz calling for any illegal or violent actions», – Polozov told.
The witness stated that pro-Russian demonstrators had behaved aggressively, throwing plastic bottles at pro-Ukrainian protesters, after which the cram started.
«The witness saw pro-Russian demonstrators using tear gas, and saw a youngster having been sprayed the tear gas into his face, his eyes misted over», – the lawyer informed.
Eksender Akhtemov was summoned as the second witness of the defense. He testified that on February 26 he arrived to the building the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea.
The witness heard pro-Russian protesters insulting Crimean Tatars, in connection with which he addressed to the police officers. The latter replied they had a direct order from their superiors not to interfere.
«The witness had to address to the officer who supervised the actions of the policemen several times, and only after that provokers were removed », – Mykola Polozov stated.
The witness said he had a blue ribbon, but it didn’t provide any authorizations, he was supposed to ensure order among pro-Ukrainian demonstrators.
