Russia to send three new frigates to Crimea till end of year

August 1. In total, according to the plans of the Russian Ministry of Defense, six frigates were supposed to arrive to the Black Sea fleet till 2020.


Battalion of airborne forces to be deployed in Crimea next year

August 1. Battalion of airborne troops will be deployed in occupied Dzhankoy in 2017.

According to the chief of staff of the airborne forces Lieutenant General Nikolaj Ignatov, the battalion will be deployed to the regiment.


Chiygoz refused to plead guilty on charges against him

August 2. On August 2nd,  "Supreme Court" of Crimea in Simferopol ended the hearing of the "Case of 26 February" against one of the defendants – Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis Akhtem Chiygoz. Chiygoz refused to plead guilty on the charges and said he considered accusations unspecified and blurry.


Ukrainian diplomats still can not get meeting with Sentsov and Kolchenko from Russian Federation

August 3. Diplomatic missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine can not get  permission from Russia to meet with the convicted in Russia Ukrainians Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko already more than three months. The Department of Consular Service of the MFA of Ukraine informs.

The department calls such actions of the Russian side a flagrant violation of the Consular Convention between Ukraine and Russia, which provides for the right for consular Ukrainian officials to visit their citizens in places of their detention in custody in Russia.


Transfer 18 prisoners from Crimea expected in September

Transfer 18 Ukrainians convicted in Crimea to Kyiv will be in September,  the press-secretary of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Ukraine Mykhailo Chaplyga says. He also added that the Russian side is working on the elimination of the legal issues that prevent from transferring prisoners.

The transfer of prisoners to Kyiv will be possible immediately after the removal of such legal hiccups. Kyiv keeps this issue under constant control and weekly contacts with the Russian side on this issue.


RF strengthens Coast Guard of FSB in Crimea

August 5. The Russian Federation continues to strengthen new coast guard armament of border division of Russian FSB in annexed Crimea. In addition, Russia transfers military equipment and personnel from Krasnodar to administrative border of annexed Crimea.

Let's remind, on July 27th, Russian Defense Minister Sergej Shoigu reported on the escalating army groups in the Southern Military District of Russia, in which the occupants had included annexed Crimea.


FPS in Crimea recognized violations in detention in custody of defendant in «Hizb-ut-Tahrir case»

August 5. Russian Federal Penitentiary Service in Crimea and Sevastopol confirmed the violations, namely in terms of detention of Enver Mamutov accused of the "Case of Hizb ut-Tahrir". The fact that Enver Mamutov was kept in solitary confinement for a long time, was confirmed.
