July 18. The Russian Federation violated the rules of international law of the sea, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Rigs, previously captured by Russia during the occupation of Crimea are used in exploration drilling works.
Ukrainian Border Guard Service notes that the continuation of the Russian illegal drilling on underwater megaplumes of Ukraine is a gross violation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Law of Ukraine "The exclusive (maritime) economic zone of Ukraine".
July 18. On July 18th FSB department in Simferopol summoned for questioning activist of Ukrainian cultural center in Crimea Leonid Kuzmin. According to the activist, he was not informed for what purpose the questioning was held for.
Ukrainian Cultural Center in Crimea was established after the occupation of the peninsula by Russian Federation. The purpose of the center is to preserve the language and culture of Ukrainian people.
July 18. Ukrainian entrepreneur Larisa Kytaiska who lives on the mainland territory of Ukraine, on July 18tth was detained by FSB officers in Yalta.
"Mum first was taken to some institution, then – to the apartment – we have a two-room apartment in Yalta – to conduct a search. They demanded a laptop. My mother gave them a laptop. They said that it was not that one, that they needed another one. They accused her of extremism. They threatened to take away an apartment", – the daughter of Larisa Kytaiska Ksenia says.
July 19. National Radio Company of Ukraine creates Crimean channel based on STRC "Krym" and Sevastopol STRC. The channel will broadcast on the territory of the occupied peninsula.
July 19. On July 19th, exhibition «Stop eating Ukraine» Russian artist and blogger SAVA was opened in history museum in Kyiv. 11 works painted by the artist between 2014 and 2016 were presented at the exhibition. The paintings were devoted to the topic of the occupation of Crimea and military aggression in eastern Ukraine.
July 21. Six countries will join the extension of EU sanctions against Crimea and Sevastopol, according to a statement of the EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini. These are Liechtenstein, Norway, Ukraine, Georgia, Montenegro, Albania.
Let’s remind, on June 22nd European Union approved the extension of sanctions against Russia for military aggression in Ukraine up to January 31st, 2017.
July 21. The Verkhovna Rada registered a draft law №3593-d on making amendments to the law on the temporarily occupied territories.
Temporarily occupied territory recognized the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, some districts and administrative-territorial units of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
