Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the occasion of the International Day of the World's Indigenous People.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the occasion of the International Day of World's Indigenous People, which is celebrated on the 9th of August.

The document notes that the actions of the Russian occupation authorities are ethnocide policy toward the Crimean Tatar people.

"Ukraine again attracts the world's attention to the fact that the system pressure on the Crimean Tatar people, the repression of the Ukrainian citizens on a national basis, the organization of ethnically and politically motivated persecutions in the temporarily occupied parts of the territory of Ukraine by the state authorities of the Russian Federation since the beginning of temporary occupation of Crimea, are a deliberate policy of ethnocide of the Crimean Tatar people", — it is said in a statement.

Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the Affairs of Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev said on a Facebook page that the International Day of Indigenous People is celebrated for the first time on the state level.
