Mejlis switches to emergency mode, — Chubarov

The Mejlis head office will be in Kyiv now.

The Mejlis Chairman of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov has announced switching to the emergency mode. He stated it at the urgent meeting in Kyiv after Mejlis was banned by occupying power’s court.

"On the 19th of February, 2016, Mejlis members at the quorum made decision about the emergency work of the Mejlis in case of emergency situation. The desicion was made by 23 members of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people", — he said.

According to the decision, since the beginning of the emergency mode the activities of the Mejlis will be held in Kyiv, where the head office will be located. Till now, their officiall whereabouts was in Simferopol.

Let us recall, today, on the 26th of April, "the Supreme Court of the Crimea" banned the Mejlis. Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis Nariman Dzhelialov said in comments to QirimInfo, that the members of the Mejlis would lodge an appeal in the near future.
