Crimean lawyer Emil Kurbedinov intends to bring to justice those responsible for the illegal persecution of Crimean Tatars in annexed Crimea. He wrote it on his Facebook page.
He recalled the raids on Muslims, which Russian security forces conducted at the Central Market in Simferopol and the Crimean cafes, during which the persons of "non-Slavic appearance" were detained, and who were brought to the Centre to combat extremism of the "Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea" and were illegally fingerprinted, DNA samples were taken, they were photographed, interrogated, limited the freedom and prevented lawyers.
"The case of "barber", when a person, the Crimean Tatar, was humiliated on a national basis at work, who was simply forced to resign then. In this case, there is an audio recording of conversation that contains signs of extremism. But law enforcement officers are silent", — Kurbedinov wrote.
He also recalled how the Russian TV channel LifeNews wrongly accused an underage Crimean Tatar girl of an attempt to go to war to the territory controlled by the terrorist organization Islamic state, thus putting her father in a distorted light.
Kurbedinov pointed to the case of the Crimean blogger Zair Akadyrov, who presented evidence of illegal actions of special forces against him, expressed in the limitation of freedom, threats and intimidation. However, Russian law enforcement agencies still keep silence.
"And I want to say about other cases, which we have not heard for a long time about, that everything is in the work and waiting in the wings, and is supplemented by documents! About the raids, we will seek to bring those responsible to justice, we demand an independent examination of audio and investigation on the "barber" case, and will require appropriate rebuttals and compensation on "LifeNews" case", — the lawyer said.
Emil Kurbedinov represents the interests of the Crimean Muslims, who are judged in Russia on the "case of Hizb-ut-Tahrir", he is the defender of the Crimean journalist Mykola Semena and Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis Ilmi Umerov.
