Defendant in the «Hizb ut-Tahrir case» Emir-Usein Kuku hasn’t been granted permit for a single meeting with his family members. His lawyer Oleksii Ladin informed this on air for Hromadske Radio.
«I would like to stress that, since the moment of arrest, the investigator hasn’t granted permit for at least one meeting of Emir-Usein Kuku and his family, despite the fact that the defendant’s wife requested a meeting several times. He also sees his children only in the corridor of the court building, if he is lucky to have such a chance», – Ladin told.
The lawyer also noted that the investigation had no legal grounds to ban the Crimean Tatar from seeing his family. The defense believes it’s a form of pressure on Emir-Usein Kuku, who pleads innocent.
On May 2, the Russia-controlled Supreme Court of the Crimea partially satisfied the appeal filed by the lawyer of the defendant in the Yalta «Hizb ut-Tahrir case» Emir-Usein Kuku. The court allowed taking photos of the experts’ conclusions.
Emir-Usein Kuku is a defendant in the Yalta «Hizb ut-Tahrir case» . Early this year, the investigation officially updated the charges against him under Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «violent upheaval».
