OSCE experts on civil liberties called on the Russian authorities to ensure the Crimean journalist Mykola Semena an opportunity to undergo medical treatment in a specialized medical institution, according to Information Centre on Human Rights.
In a statement, the experts expressed concern about the deteriorating of health of Mykola Semena — journalist needs an operation, otherwise there is the risk of disability. The criminal case, instituted against him by FSB, does not allow him to go to mainland Ukraine for treatment.
Let us remind, in spring massive searches took place in Crimea, including of independent journalists, who were suspected of collaboration with "Krym.Realii". Criminal case on suspicion of calling for the violation of the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation was opened against the author of "Radio Liberty" Mykola Semena. Russian investigation forbade him to leave the peninsula.
Kyiv District Court of Simferopol, controlled by Russia, on August 29 dismissed the complaint Mykola Semena's lawyer against the actions of the FSB investigator.
