Defense of political prisoner Oleksandr Kostenko filed the fourth appeal in cassation in his case. The lawyer of Kostenko Dmitrii Sotnikov reported in Facebook.
"The first appeal in cassation, was refused to consider by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea. The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation obliged to consider the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea the second appeal in cassation, as a result, the term of imprisonment was reduced to five months – from 3 years, 11 months to 3 years and 6 months. The Supreme Court refused to consider the third appeal in cassation. Today, the fourth appeal in cassation was addressed to the chairman of the Supreme Court of RF V. M. Lebedev in order of Part 3 Article 401.8 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation", – Sotnikov said.
Oleksandr Kostenko was sentenced to four years and two months in prison in Crimea. According to Russian investigators, on February 18, 2014 Kostenko inflicted injuries Crimean employee of the special division "Berkut" during "mass disorders" in Kyiv. Kostenko did not admit his guilt.
