Today, on March 2, the Supreme Court of the Crimea interrogated the defendants in the «February 26 case» Eskender Kantemirov and Eskender Emirvaliyev in the framework of the «Chiygoz case». Lawyer Mykola Polozov has informed this at his Facebook page.
According to the lawyer, the court decided to interrogate Emirvaliyev and Kantemirov not as defendants, but as «other individuals».
«The Criminal and Procedural Code of the Russian Federation provides for interrogation of no «other individuals». There are witnesses, defendants, experts, specialists. The status of Kantemirov and Emirvaliyev complies with none of the above, » – Mr. Polozov has clarified.
The lawyer has also informed that defendant Kantemirov gave no evidence against Chiygoz. The interrogation of the other defendant Eskender Emirvaliyev continues.
«He [Kantemirov] said that he had come there [to the demonstration near the Supreme Council of the Crimea] as a person, and that he hadn’t heard Chiygoz giving orders like «beat» and «squeeze», which the prosecutor ascribed to him, » – Polozov has told.
The lawyer plans to file a petition on withdrawal of the testimonies of Kantemirov and Emirvaliyev, as he believes they were interrogated with violation of the Criminal and Procedural Code of the Russian Federation.
«We see that the court openly violates the law. Apparently, this is determined by the judges’ interest in the outcome of the case,» – Polozov has summarized.
The defendants in the «February 26 case» Eskender Nebiyev, Taliat Yunusov, and Arsen Yunusov were previously interrogated in the framework of the «Chiygoz case». According to the lawyer, the interrogated informed nothing about Chiygoz’s actions during the demonstration near the walls of the Supreme Council of the Crimea.
