Russian prosecutors of Crimea finished the investigation regarding Andrii Kolomiiets, reports its spokesperson. 23-year-old Crimean citizen is accused of attempted murder of two Berkut officials during the Revolution of Dignity in Kyiv in 2014 and possession a large volumes of drugs.
“According to the investigators, in January 2014, during the mass unrest in Kyiv, Kolomiiets, a member of extremist organization Ukrainian Insurgent Army, made an attempt on lives of two officers of Crimean Berkut division by throwing bottles with flammable liquid. He also possessed and transported large volumes of narcotic plants,” says the official statement.
Andrii Kolomiiets is currently held in detention, while the criminal case against him is waiting to be tried at Kyiv Raion Court of Simferopol.
Previously another Euromaidan activist, Oleksandr Kostenko, was sentenced in Crimea to 4 years of prison for assaulting a Berkut officer.
