„FSB border control“ prohibited Crimean Tatat activist and Ukrainian citizen Rustem Rashidov on the border of russian-occupied Crimea from entering the peninsula.

This was reported by Refat Chubarov, head of the Medjlis, on his Facebook page.

According to him, on February 5 at about 9 ‘o clock in the morning police forces arrested Rustem Rashidov, born in 1993 and currently a resident of Novotroitskoye in Kherson Oblast, at the checkpoint „Chongar“.

As per Chubarov, Rashidov intended to visit his sister’s family in Bakhchysarai. Since March 2014 he had not entered the peninsula.

„Russian occupants illegally held Ukrainian citizen Rustem Rashidov until late evenig. FSB officers subjected him to a thourough cross examination. They took a special interest in Rustem Rashidov’s education at the Asov Madrasa, where he studied already before the occupation“, Chubarov wrote.

According to him, during the day Rashidov managed to arrange several brief phone calls to his parents who were „shocked by what was happening“. They showed up at the checkpoint later on.

Chubarov reported that at about 9 :40 p.m. Rashidov had returned to ukrainian-controlled territory, as the FSB had prohibited him from entering „territory of the Russian Federation“ and ordered him to return to the ukrainian side.
