The Kyiv district court of Simferopol sentenced defendant in the «diversionists case» Oleksii Stohnii to 3,5 years of imprisonment. This was reported by the Crimean Human Rights Group.
Stohnii was convicted under Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation [Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, main parts thereof, ammunition] and Part 1 of Article 223 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation [Illegal manufacturing, alteration or repair of firearms and ammunition].
These articles are not related to the initial indictments pressed against Stohnii. Thus, last November, right after Stohnii’s arrest, the Russian media called him a Colonel of the Chief Intelligence Administration of Ukraine. The media also linked him with another defendant in the «diversionists case», Sevastopol resident Dmytro Shtyblikov.
According to Oleksii Stohnii’s wife Oksana, her husband was arrested at night on November 14 to 15, at the Russian checkpoint opposite the Kalanchak border crossing point when exiting the Crimea, when he was heading for Kyiv to his daughter’s birthday.
Previously, another defendant in the «diversionists case» Volodymyr Prysich was jailed for 3 years allegedly for storaging drugs.
